MANUFACTURING MAINTENANCE & FACILITIES MANAGER

  

This position is responsible for direct activities of all maintenance ensuring a smooth and consistent operation to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

  

Duties Include:

  • Maintain maximum equipment availability and uptime across all production assets while emphasizing key production equipment uptime.
  • Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Implement and maintain a digital maintenance management program.
  • Develop and maintain a maintenance inventory that includes all critical and recommended spare parts to help minimize the length of equipment downtimes.
  • Track and report key KPI’s such as equipment work orders, uptime, downtime, maintenance costs and estimated remaining life.
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships to ensure Metal-Fab’s requirements are met.
  • Leadership and training of maintenance personnel to maximize productivity
  • Ensures strategic objectives for maintenance department is developed, implemented and timely.
  • Improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Recommend machinery and tools for department.

 

Job Location & Schedule:

This location is located at 3025 W. May St., Wichita, Kansas 67213
This is an exempt position; Normal schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Management or related field preferred.
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance/facilities management.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC building systems.
  • Working knowledge and experience with automation projects and electromechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage constantly shifting priorities.
  • A demonstrated capacity to keep abreast of new technology and trends.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient personal computer skills.
  • The successful candidate must reside or be able to relocate to the Wichita area.
  • Valid Drivers License Required for travel between work sites.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - 1ST SHIFT

  

Duties Include:

  • Complete incoming maintenance work orders on fabrication and shop equipment
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make needed repairs
  • Performs electrical installation and repair work
  • Performs PLC programming
  • Rough carpentry work
  • Repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks, clogged lines and drains
  • Perform Predictive and Preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
  • Ability to work within a team environment and follow all safety procedures

 

Job Location & Schedule:

This position is based in Wichita, Kansas
1st Shift:
Monday-Friday: 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (or later)
Saturday (if scheduled): 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Occasional daily or Saturday overtime


Requirements:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree
  • Technically competent, with five or more years of experience with basic mechanical, pneumatics, plumbing, electrical and hydraulic systems or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment
  • Willing to help with other maintenance tasks as needed
  • Ability to mentor maintenance staff
  • Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, repair manuals, parts catalogs, work orders
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing atmosphere safely and following safety practices and regulations
  • Must be dependable
  • Flexibility to work overtime on short notice
  • Good communication skills
  • Well organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to drive and maintain valid driver’s license

QUALITY MANAGER

 

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the companys Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure products meet or exceed customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. Collaboration and a high level of interaction is required with Sales, Purchasing and Operations to ensure a smooth and consistent operation that satisfies internal and external customer requirements.

 

Duties:

  • Communicates with Corporate Quality Department to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with divisional departments regarding quality issues and procedures
  • Acts as a training resource to other departments for quality related issues
  • Presents to customer and vendors as necessary
  • Respond to and track corrective action responses
  • Investigate and resolve root causes of customer claims
  • Communicate with mills
  • Participate in selection of supplies and customers
  • Complete First Article/PPAP submissions
  • Perform quality audits
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions and maintain system documents
  • Conduct capability studies, perform gage studies, and manage inspection equipment of calibration activities

  • Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of related quality experience, preferably in supervisory capacity
  • Skilled in lean manufacturing principles and practices with Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications, notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of steel industry and various products preferred
  • Knowledge of computerized document control preferred
  • Skilled in customer service and communication

WAREHOUSE SHIPPING ASSOCIATE - 1ST & 2ND SHIFT

 

Metal-Fab is seeking warehouse shipping associates for 1st & 2nd shift

 

Duties Include:

  • Operate a forklift
  • Change forklift propane tanks
  • Perform basic forklift preventative maintenance
  • Accurately place and retrieve inventory goods
  • Order pulling/picking
  • Load and unload material and product
  • Operate scanning equipment
  • Perform inventory stock counts

 

Job Location & Schedule:

This position is based in Wichita, Kansas
1st shift hours 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
2nd shift hours 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED or warehouse experience
  • Available to work daily and/or weekend overtime
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Ability to accurately perform basic math
  • Ability to operate scanning equipment and use measuring devices
  • Ability to work with and get along with other employees
  • Dependable and punctual
